Evaluating the Program as a Tool for Teaching and Learning

  1. How would you use this program in your class? Identify a specific application for part of your curriculum (if possible).
Spanish - Ask advanced students to take a specific segment (i.e. dock to library and secret room) and write instructions out in Spanish - as well as what they saw. The opportunities are endless. Spanish 101 students can learn words and directions and they can be asked to follow directions and they will then have to say where they ended up.
  2. How could this program be used for teaching and learning in other disciplines?
Counseling - stress management - I always stress the importance of taking time for the self. This is a great way to relax.
  3. How effective was the simulation environment in providing an enhanced learning experience?
Wonderful! It is imaginative and logical, as well as mentally stimulating.
  4. What factors might limit the use of this program by instructors?
If there is only one copy of it per campus and 60 students need to go to the writing center to use it - Need to schedule carefully when students will use it.
  5. Would your recommend this program for teaching and learning? If yes, why would you recommend this program?
The fact that it really has actual narration or words (only the clues) can make it very adaptable to a foreign language environment. For counseling, the fact that one can lose him/herself in a very refreshing experience and take a break from meaningful problems.
  6. If no, why would you not recommend this program?
Additional Comments
I really, thoroughly enjoyed it and I can see possibilities within Spanish teaching as well as counseling opportunities.
