Hopefully in the Four Flavors activity, you have identified a handful of sites in your subject area that appear worth looking at in more detail. We have set up a list of questions you might ask for each flavor.There are some common questions that you should consider when looking at any web site you might want to use, covering:
These questions are provided in the general evaluation worksheet and you should complete this form for every site that you review.
- Authority-- who is responsible?
- Purpose-- is it very clear form the very start?
- Relevancy-- how valuable is the content?
- Usability-- how is the design and organization?
We have provided additional worksheets that include questions specific to each of the flavors.
Each worksheet is designed for you to print and do your work on paper. If you have identified some potential web sites in each "flavor" try to evaluate at least one of each. Otherwise, we suggest concentrating on the "flavor" you would mostly likely want to use or create yourself.
